Does anyone have suggestions on a natural way to clean pressing combs? I know there are products you can buy but are there any solutions you can make at home?

Girl you should never clean a pressing comb I have always been told that by old folks and my instructors in cosmetology school. the older they are the better they work like a cast iron pot just wipe it off after use and get any lil hair out but dont clean it :)

Ms.Leeva, what about "gunk" in the comb? I used proclaim heat protectant before I pressed and it left a residue on my combs. How can I remove it without cleaning? I tried the hot water and soap, but there's still gunk left. I'd appreciate any suggestions...

When I used to use pressing combs, I would soak the comb in some warm water and use some steel wool and shampoo to gently scrub the burnt residue off. The comb would be gleaming like it was brand new. Clap
