The holidays are a great time of year to be joyous and enjoy the magic of the season. Holiday parties, family gatherings, Christmas musicals and themed events help get everybody in the holiday spirit. The holidays are a time to step out in a fabulous outfit and shine.

Winter White
Winter white is festive for Christmas because it makes people think of snow and is associated with the fur on a Santa Claus suit. Sweaters, dresses and blouses are all classic pieces of clothing appropriate for parties, events and holiday gatherings. When finding the right article of clothing to wear, remember winter white is darker than pure white and has contains a slight hint of beige. Pair a winter white top with a black skirt or dark black pants for a more sophisticated look.

Festive Red
Red is one of the traditional colors of Christmas and represents energy, love and passion -- all things associated with the holidays. Red is a universally flattering color that can be worn by almost everyone. Pair the color red with silver or gold for a dressier look, or with black or brown for a more casual look.

All that Glitters
Sequins, glitter and beads are all chic and fun. These items are always appropriate for holiday gatherings. Match a sequined skirt with a nice, solid sweater or blouse or reverse the outfit and wear a sequined top with a solid skirt. Use glitter and beads to turn a plain sweater or dress into a festive, glamorous ensemble.

Classic Black
Black is the ultimate classic color that looks great on everyone. It also is a very slimming color, which is why black is such a great choice for holiday attire. Wear black on the part of your body that you want to look smaller to give the illusion of a slimmer appearance. Black is also the color of the classic "little dress." Every girl needs a little black dress in her closet because it is chic, sophisticated and works as a go-to piece for any special event or party.
