Say you were invited/going to Christmas dinner with a family. Would you bring a gift? or a dish? How rude is it to just show up and eat?

Bring a bottle of wine in a wine gift bag, if they're not drinkers then bring a pie or some type of dessert.

Country ppl just want you to come eat.
Depends on where you going.

When my mama invites ppl she just wants them to eat and be happy.
Same for the rest of my family.

I would bring a poinsettia or a candle. I'm not a drinker and people have such weird diets and issues about their food nowadays so it's not worth it to me.

And this might be a bit ghetto...but bring your own tupperware/ziplocs if you know you want to take something home. Makes it easier on the host. If it's family/close friends...not like acquaintances or work people.
