God only seeks faith and love, man seeks the almighty dollar.

I believe it tells you in Deuteronomy how much you supposed to give, I could be mistaken though. You only suppose to give according to need and what you have. Most churches get money from the government anyway, so it's all game. And I find it weird that tithing is the only old testament law that Christian churches would acknowledge. I'm posting from my tablet, so I will come back with the tax code for churches, although I think it's 501c3.

I belong to the Churh of Christ. Only god should know what you give . My pastor would never ask you to give a certain amount .

Isn't it 10% after paying bills? |
I don't know but I know at my church they say 10% of what you earn period. IMO you shouldn't try to tell somebody how much they should tithe in church anyway. |
Doesn't the bible say how much in percentages u have to tithe?

Many Christians interpret this verse as the bible dictating a specific percentage: 18 Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (Now he was the priest of the Most High God.) 19 He blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by the Most High God, Creator of heaven and earth. 20 Worthy of praise is the Most High God, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything ( Genesis 14:18-20).

the 10% number comes from the old testament ( the old testament also called for animal sacrafices...so) actually, i believe the overall % would be even higher than 10% if all forms of offerings required in the old testament i do not believe tithing is required according to the new testament...
