Omygosh! I know I'm about 2-3 years behind but I just ordered my HAIR STEAMERRRRRRRRR! I'm so high right now! However, I've come to my trusted and well loved BHM and searched hair steamer, steaming etc. and nothing???!!! No1 discussing the benefits of steaming (screaming in horror) lol! Do my eyes deceive me?! I find everything here and on one other trusted blog. Anyhoo, ladies if you have tips, stories, caution, beware, condish treatments, suggestions etc. please share and pls pls pls post! I blv STEAMING is going to be my new love.

FYI

I'm low porosity so moisture is my long distance relative.

I'm 4 b/c coarse and medium thickness (lost sum thickness after 2 pregnancies)

Texturizurzed and currently 7 weex post...wb texturizing tmrw but steamer won't be here til tue.

***if steaming worx better than I expect I might become natural...

Got it in the mail, only bad thing the directions didn't come with on how to use it...it turned out to be simple and when I contacted customer service literally within 10 min I got a call back and they emailed me pdf directions! Emailing directions and standard procedure (maybe they are a green company). She was apologetic, helpful and knowledgable! I'm so very happy and glad I didn't go w the more popular countertop one(s). This is super adjustable, sturdy, hood full coverage, ez to put together. No crack hoods, or delivery issues. Like a kid at Christmas I wb using this weekly and hopefully unlike a kid at Christmas it won't be found in the toy box unused a few months from now.

I've always been a bit confused by this. Is this a bit different from a hooded dryer? I have one of those and need to start using it. I hear deep conditioning with heat is superb

I've had my steamer for about a month now and I just used it Thursday for the first time. Let me tell you that I love love love how my hair turned out. I orignaly wanted to stay under for only 20 minutes but I was enjoying myself so much I stayed for another 20 +5 lol.

I love it. It makes my DC work so much better for my hair. It absobs better and leaves my hair alot softer too. I've been using the same DC for yearssssss and have never felt my hair so soft after deep conditioning for 30 minutes under my hooded dryer.

I also think that steaming is better for deep conditioning when you use a dry conditioner. Well not dry, but one of those conditioners that seems like it doestn't move on your hair like it just sits ontop of it instead of penetrating. The thicker types of conditioners like Matrix Biolage Hydrating Conditiong Balm. or Kenra.

It works well with the moist conditioners too from what I see. But I won't go back to the hooded dryer unless I'm using a very moist, think type of deep conditioner. I love my steamer. I hope you enjoy yours just as much.
