Thanks, leftywefty.  I am going to try and find the canned food for my kitty.  Rabbit sounds great!  I wonder if she'll eat it.

Ingredients to avoid in cat food
-Any meat that is not identified. For example, it should list chicken, turkey, type of fish, pork, rabbit etc, as the meat. This protein should always be listed first on the ingredients list.
-Organs should be from the same animal as the meat. For example, venison meat should include organs from deer.
-meat by-products. This is not the same as meat. By-products can include chicken feet, nails, beaks, heads, diseased animals or even spoiled/rotten meat. By products are basically everything that is undesirable to humans

Cats get most of their water from their food so a canned or raw diet is optimal. If you must feed dry kibble look for:

-grain free. minimal vegetables
-some kind of meat meal(such as chicken or turkey meal). Meal is meat with moisture taken out completely.

Anatomy of a garbage cat food: Iams Proactive Health (dry kibble)
First ingredient: Chicken by-product meal. This is disgusting. Chicken heads, beaks, feathers, nails, feet, and diseased meat all mixed together and dehydrated.

Second ingredient: Corn meal. cats are carnivores and have no need for corn.

third ingredient: animal fat. non specific fat. who knows where this could've come from. Again, disgusting.

fourth ingredient: tuna (meh)

fifth ingredient: brewers rice. a cheaper and less healthy alternative to brown rice.

Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Meal, Animal Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Tuna, Brewers Rice, Corn Grits, Dried Beet Pulp, Natural Flavor, Dried Egg Product, Brewers Dried Yeast, Sodium Bisulfate, Potassium Chloride, DL-Methionine, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Fructooligosaccharides, Calcium Carbonate, Choline Chloride, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin A Acetate, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of vitamin B1), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement (source of vitamin B2), Inositol, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid), Salt, Minerals (Zinc Oxide, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Potassium Iodide, Cobalt Carbonate), Rosemary Extract.
