One of my favorite songs is "If You Won't Do For Love". I've had
arguments and won money because most folk think the singer is black and
he's white.
Same goes for my favorite Boz Scaggs. You guys should listen to his live version of a classic "Lowdown".
By the way I don't consider white artists as soul but more being soulful. In touch, is what I really call it.

I forgot the guy who sings this is white.
I think alot of white singers back in the day had WAY more soul than supposed soul singers these days. While I like songs by artists like Adele, Joss Stone, etc. their music doesn't touch me in a way that would make me consider them soul singers.

When I think of soul music, by far we own this. I feel yts come close, and many sing well, but they just don't have something in the stylings in how they sing.
Country music is the yt version of soul music IMO. I sometimes listen to it because many singers do songs from their hearts and you can tell they are pouring their experiences in their music.
