I've had my braids in for about a month and two weeks now. I was getting bored with them, so to change up my look I unbraided them halfway and now they're really puffy on my head. Can I flat iron those ends to make them less big or is there anything else I can do to decrease the bigness?

OMG, NOOO... it'll melt like plastic... braid them or put them in rollers and dip them in boiled water.

No. It wil cause the hair to burn and get plasticky-looking, and dry.

You can make the hair flat by using a blow dryer with a comb attachment. You dont need to wash the braids or anything in order to do this.

*hot water is an option, but it will make the hair trashy/ashy looking when it dries. Try the blow-dryer, you'll see that it works great.Wink

Thanks for the replies ladies. I tried the blow dryer with comb idea and the hair came out straight and smooth, it's still a bit puffy but now in a good way and not as big before

I don't know what everyone is talking about but yes you can flat iron kanekalon hair. It's Toyokalon and Polypropylene hair you CANNOT IRON! Just make sure it's 100% kanekalon that you are ironing. If you don't know, take a tiny scissor snip of it and light it on fire with a lighter. If it singes (smokes, burns and gets crispy) its kanekalon... iron away. If it melts its Toyokalon or Polypropylene hair, so don't you dare try to iron that!!! You just have to put your iron on a lower setting and use a serum ...

I do it all the time. You can even curl it that way. these bangs I did at the end of this video are bangs from a kanekalon jumbo braid ... yes the kinky looking one. The bangs were silky and flowed like a breeze through the trees.

I used a flat iron on about 300 degrees and a few drops of CHI serum. Run a fine tooth comb through the hair as you flat iron. (got a video on how to do that too)
