wasn't there an article on here once about some black dude that was either upper middle or middle class but he didn't even have a dollar in the bank?

yeah...i gave up on social class structures a while ago.

my mom told me a long time ago, its not about how much money you make, but how you use it (savings, investments, retirement, etc.) at the time i use to think "yeah lady its easier for you to say" but the older i get the more i see and understand.

ConfusedBuy your friend a comb and tell her how to use it...

If y'all have "valuable" information, then share it......How do you go about establishing a nice retirement fund or invest well? Money market accounts, life insurance policies?

My advice is get close with your personal bankers especially the licensed ones who have brokerage authority.
Also sit down and talk to a financial advisor.

Lay out all you expenses and income and what you plan to do with them and your financial goals for the next 5,10,20,30+ years. Does your job have a retirement fund and how much does it match?
Just have a conversation with trusted ppl and FI.

This is what makes me sad sometimes.
I have to hold the blacks their hostage to talk about this stuff.

No matter how much or little money you have their is always a way to make more out of it.

Lots of ppl with little money think there is no point in talking to bankers or cfp there is.

Make them earn their keep

if your job has a 401k and they match, contribute to the highest match.

If we are talking about my daddy's money combined with mine, since I still live in his household, then I would be upper middle classApprove. But if we are talking about just my money then I'm like freakin lower class, which is making barely enough to get byCry
