I searched around, so please forgive me if this is on the board already, but I just received a wig from LHR, and the lace is too dark.  I've never had this happen before and I'm not sure what to do.  I'm light (think Faith Evans, who's in my avatar) but not that light.  What should I do?  Is it possible to lighten the lace?  I'm a little upset because if I can't lighten it, I'll have to sell it.  This is the wig: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220307922708

You can use Rit Dye Remover to remove the color from lace using the dip method developed by sexiBeach.  The instructions can be found in the Newbie thread. If the hair is textured, be careful that you let the rit dye remover solution cool down a bit.

I asked this question before and was told that there was nothing that could be done.  I decided to take a risk and try the rite dye remover with the understanding that it  wouldn't work and that there could be some compromise to the lace.  It removed some of the color but it made the lace a little thin.  This was ok because the hair and knots are fine...I am still wearing this unit.

Good luck with your decision.

I simply love that hair color.  Making my mouth really water.  That is gonna make me get a new blonde Chinese unit now.  i was doing fine until i saw that color.  i have colored lace from light to dark using hair color when coloring the hair.  The lace took on a little darker hue which was perfect.  The lace did not take on the deep color just slighter more color to get rid of the light brown.  But going from dark to light, never tried.
