You don't think he can master floating in 3 hours?

He can spend the next two days on treading.

Then the last to on swimming, and he can practice laps in the shallow end

It's the bolded I'm skeptical about. He can practice laps in the shallow end allright and when he gets into deeper water, that's when his ass will sink to the bottom in no time. If he were a child, I'd be more positive about it. As a grown man, I just don't see that happening. In any case, I've never seen it. I hope he keeps his floater on

oh, ok. That's why I it's good to master floating and treading.

So if you panic, you revert back to those.

Hmmm... That's the thing though. Once you start panicking, everything else goes out the window, especially if you only learned it 5 days ago... Niccas been known to drown getting overly ambitious like that...

Did some more googling.
Yes you can learn to swim in that time.
You won't be a master of course.

Y'all had me thinking I was going crazy,

If someone needed a life guard that day then it wouldn't have been me if that's the measuring stick y'all using but by the end of our pool session I would start from the shallow end of the pool and go to one of the floating markers about midway then swim back and forth with my friends after the lifeguard and them helped me at the first part.

It took me time after to learn grace and technique but yes you can swim

lol.. swimming is rocket science..
thats why those magical babies get it so fast.

Babies take up swimming very easily because it wasn't that long ago that they were immersed upside down in amniotic fluid. It's reflex for them. A grown adult WILL NOT pick it up the same way. I'm a great swimmer. But 5 days is suicide

ive seen adults learn in less time.

have faith in yourself and your ability.. lol

it is most definitely not impossible.

its only impossible  when you mentally tell yourself you can't do it.

but thats not the type of person i am.

Thunder bring some friends who know how to swim and a lifeguard will be there too I'm assuming.

JP how is this not possible?
I'm asking genuinely.

And what is the standard you're using?
