A 14-year-old California boy shot his older sister dead after arguing over laundry, family members claim.
Mario Toliver allegedly gunned down 17-year-old sibling Justice at
their apartment in Oakland's Chinatown at noon Thursday after she
mistakenly bleached his clothes.
He then fled the scene.
The pair's cousin Marianna Gaston revealed the supposed reason behind the shooting to ABC Local
The 22-year-old said she was told the boy was "mad" at his sister for ruining his clothes.
At first, Gaston said she thought the explanation was "a joke" and
asked: "Why would he kill her over that? Nothing makes sense. It doesn't
Police are still hunting for the teen.
Officers have also stressed that they have not yet determined the motive for the incident.
Other relatives have urged Toliver to hand himself in.
"So once again, grandson, grandma is asking you, please do the right
thing, please," said his grandmother Wanda Brown, adding: "And I love
you, I love you with all my heart Mario."
