Put your lights and gas on the budget plan. That's what I do because umm I ain't gone be cold! I pay a certain amount for the entire year. My budget for this year is $102. Girl my gas bill use to roll in at $350+ a month!
Wink Yep times 2!  I can't be cold or hot! This past winter I bought down comforters.  They were expensive but I believe it saved me in heating bills.  I bought fans for the Summer and I have a ceiling fan but it's not doing any justice.  I still sweat at night sleeping naked.Embarrassed I also do laundry once a week to cut back on the electric bill.  Can't think of anything else.  It is what it is I guess.

Its not one of those huge new mansion looking homes lol. But its a decent size. We just don't leave lights and tv's on. We watch how much water we use. During the week no one is really home during the day for the most part so nothing is really running.

We are with smeco electric company and our bills are just so much less then when we had pepco. I think pepco are crooks.

we need to be better about turning the lights off and watching how much water we use

our air is on schedule so it doesn't come on during the day when we are not home

Since we're halfway through the year, this may be too late, but the 52 week money challenge might be something worth trying

I think there's an app for this too.

We are blessed with a 5 bedroom 3 story home . My electric bill and cable are really low . Basically  $200 a month . Purchase a cheap safe to save money once you break a bill . I purchase my little girl a reload Visa to teach her how to save . I will return with more tips . Born in the 60's. I  know how to stretch a dollar lol .

I find the "but I deserve it" attitude really hurts people

it's my birthday, so I deserve this

I worked really hard so I deserve this

I mean on a certain level you might but if you can't afford it you are only hurting yourself by purchasing it

you know what you make each week/two weeks/month

make a budget from that

you know your bills (I like to split my payments for each bill for each paycheck I get, that way I can spread it out and not be overwhelmed when bills are due)

pay your bills first, then pay yourself (this means save some money. I like to have it go directly into my savings accounts so I don't have to make the decision to move it every time I get paid)

now budget your daily/weekly needs and wants with what is left

I like to take what is left and divide it by the number of days till I get paid, that gives me a daily budget max

with my credit cards I only charge what I can pay off in 30 days or less

I don't pay interest on what I purchase with my credit card

I have to wait sometimes to get things I want but I am okay with that

I also can't buy certain items but I m okay with that too

I also get daily emails and texts from my bank that state my balance

WHere do you bank? I need to get daily text stating my balance I'm very bad at checking it..but I started when my credit card got hacked
