Hey ladies everytime I comb my hair or take out my braids I have little bitty hair strands everywhere and in the comb. Their very curly like my hair but short then it with no cuticle attached.

Is this breakage or shedding?
If so what are some things I can do to stop this?

I would love to comb my hair and nothing be in the comb. thanksBig%20smile

Sounds like a little breakage...Have you ever tried a oil rinse in between wash and conditioning? This method helped me tremendously.
Also maybe add some protein to your reggie. HTH's

u will never be able to comb witout any hair coming out.
but if there is no bulb that is a sign of a lil breakage

but oil rinses or hot oil treatment can help
u could also do a prepoo treatment with oil or conditioner.
then braid back up and do the same thing everytime u take them out.
what do u do to ur hair while in braids. do you apply any product?

you could try detangling with a wide tooth comb under running water while in the shower.  I always do this and the tangles seem to melt away under the running water

This might me a dumb question- but what kind of brushes/combs do you use on your hair?? I only use a wide tooth comb on my hair when it is wet, and I don't experience that much breakage. When my hair is dry I use a regular brush, and I seem to get a lot more breakage then.

Of course, I know that changing the way i comb my hair isn't going to magically fix my breakage, but i have heard that certain types of brushes/combs can tear your hair out.

So what do you ladies use to comb/style your hair when its dry??

^^I never comb my hair while dry, it causes too much breakage.  I only comb if the hair is damp with a lot of conditioner or under running water in the shower.

in the shower under running water I use a seamless wide tooth jibere comb and if I need to comb/brush my hair out of the shower I use a denman with a lot of conditioner in my hair.  I never use brushes, even if I need to slick my hair into a ponytail I just use my denman and tie a scarf for 15mins.

changing the way you comb won't put an end to all breakage, but for me it stopped 95% of breakage.  I used to use a boar bristle brush for ponytails when I first started taking care of my hair and my edges disappeared lol
