When I do braid outs then blow dry my hair it turns out beautifully

when I do braid outs on wet hair it comes out shrunken & i dont like it really.

if i let my hair dry & comb it out. does it turn out better that way? ... I cant keep blow drying my hair (ive only done it like twice in 2 yrs & dont wana make it a habit)

I was thinking that if I do it while its dry & put a wet product on it itll still shrink up :(

I do mine on stretched/banded hair.  It shows more length and tends to be fluffier and bouncier.

I've been looking at a lot of fotkis and it looks like the nicest ones are done on hair that is damp- they braid their soaking wet hair in 4-6 braids and let it mostly dry, then take those out and do their real braids/twists

That's a good idea as well.  It'll definitely give a more defined texture that way.

I tend go for slight texture, more fluff w/my braidouts.  For more texture, I dampen w/product before braiding.

Yup this is what I do. Just very slightly damp hair. When I have to retwist the next day, I dampen the ends and use KCCC.

using water instead of product will help your hair stretch. products tend to bevmore acidic and make your hair curl and shrink.braid your wet hair .i tried it yesterday it really helped

You kind of get the best of both worlds this way.

This would be my advice. You could even let it dry all the way in the big braids then rebraid. To avoid blow drying.
