wasn't dry after approx 24 hours
(i sewed in a lot of hair around the middle
so I can have the tracks concealed
when i bring the hair to the front with a middle parting at the back
The ends felt more normal
in the morning but were still a bit rough
. The mix I did, mainly because I used oil
, reduced the infamous "poof"
I had on the wig which made it look unnatural to me. Even if I had leave out, the wig would look too big and poofy - so that is fixed!
I didn't like how the hair was crunchy frizzy
at the ends and poker straight-ish
so I put the lengths into 1 pin curl
. I used a busted bobby pin
(it was one where the rounded safety tip broke off) and twisted it to hold the curl. Slathered conditioner onto the hair.Heated water in the kettle
(yes i know I have always said this water
is BAD BAD BAD
but... its late and i wanted to see what happens lol), put it into my sauce pan and set the heat to low
-ish. Stuck the pin curled ends
into the hot water for 5 minutes
. I ran the hair under cold water
(I thought it would set the curl
and also cool
the hair - it was BURNING HOT!
). Put lemon juice
on the hair to correct PH level and seal cuticle
. I applied Herbal Essences Split End Therapy (1 pump) to the damp hair focusing on the ends.
Hair has this pretty loose curl to it and I think this will look much more natural than poker straight hair everywhere (the hair sucks
so poker straight on a brand new
fresh unit would look HAWT, I got some DIY, Frankenstein
, Raggedy unit lol Gotta work what I got
I will let yall know how the hair is when it is dry. Again, really sorry I dont have any pictures. I keep thinking of doing things and forget to take pictures then I have no before photos.
Now... I must sleep lol xoxo
*UPDATE 13/05/13 22:15pm*
Hair looks wavier when wet
and then goes frizzy when dry
. Hair does have that curl in each strand but I just dont have the patience to go in with some form of serum curl activator. The experiment was meant to give straight hair more lifelike appearance.
I put all the hair into one big braid
, put my Lusters
porosity equalising solution
onto the braid and used a hair wax to slick
the ends (the ends seem to be the bit that causes me the most grief
because it is either too frizzy or the ends like to bend their own way)
Going to boil the hair
tonight, let the wig cool overnight
in a towel. Might have to let it dry up and everything so maybe 24 hours?
I will report the results! The aim is for a wave, anything to break up the poker straight/wavy mix that is going on and give the hair a sleekness but also some body.
My other wigs are hot but this one is my project piece. I need to revive, spruce up and make it look funky fresh. Aint that what everyone wants with their old units?
