I don't understand why some people just don't wanna believe 100% black African people can't have non nappy hair. That's ridiculous. Seriously. EVERY SINGLE ancient African had nappy hair? Please.

My boyfriend is Somali/Egyptian and he has tighter curls than mine. His looks to be 4b but idk for sure. His sister looks to have 3c hair, maybe even 3b. But his grandmother also had blue eyes. My dad is about 1/5 white and he has light brown eyes. So genes from other "races" do play a roll on how people look.

And if you look at the migration patterns, Caucasians did come after Asians. It goes Africans, Eurasians, Asians, Europeans, then Native Americans.

Usually, if your hair is substantially odd for your race, its because of a parent, grand parent, or great grand parent may have been of another race or mixed. Not from your evolutuionary great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grand parents .

Humans, especially ethnic ones, come in all shades, shapes, and forms. The fact that just MAYBE we don't all have the same hair type is not that hard to understand. Especially if you look at the true reason why we evolved these hair types.

this isn't offensive.
the answer is yes. but of course, what does one mean by full black? i consider myself full black, but i am aware that far back in my blood line there is "other" admixture that my family claims is native american although i'm somewhat inclined to say white.
but in my family everyone has type 3a-3c hair, with no type 4. i myself have 3b/3c, but apart from my hair look like a "regular" black girl lol
it's only when i wear makeup that people start comin out the woodwork questioning my ethnicity haha
but yeah, a lotta people assume it's only biracial people that have type 3 hair, but it's not exactly true.

Frederick Douglass was 1/2 White.   I think we would agree he actually looks like a typical Black that is around nowadays. Henry Gates showed on his DNA tv show that even the darkest blacks have 17% or so Caucasian DNA these days. And a lot of people who "look" Black are as much as 60 some percent WHITE! Nowadays we would not believe Frederick Douglass is  half white because we are so diluted that we expect those who are 1/2 white to look like what is really like only 1/4 black.
They've even discovered Michelle Obama's White relatives. SO long story short, what we are calling BLACK people these days are really only 40-70% black and like the other 1/2 white any how.
I am 1/2 white so I guess that means I am really maybe 1/3 or 1/4 black by today's diluted standards.
So YES, A LOT of people who call themselves pure black have 3c hair because most "blacks" nowadays are close to 1/2 white like Frederick Douglass due to the whole race being a lot more diluted than it was 100 years ago.
