No lye relaxers = the devil, IMO.
Really? No lye? When I used lye, it felt as if I died a million paper cut deaths and had someone poor lemon juice in the cuts. When I used olive oil relaxers, my hair was really nice and strong and healthy

Please don't mention that BKT mess.

You do know it is an unregulated amount of formaldehyde and essentially is just embalming each hair strand.

My brother's baby momma who is biracial tried it once and she is now pissed. Her hair is breaking at the root so she has a small patch at her hairline. And she has beautiful hair. She didn't even need it.

my negro naps laughed at it
lawd @ Epitome!

I hope you never put that mess in your hair again.

i did like three times and each time my naps were like "bish please. we will survive whatever nonsense youve decided you want us to do."LOL then again i didnt use the suggested products. i have waaaaay too much stuff to just throw stuff out the window for some bkt

im not gonna do it anymore. the only thing that can "train" my hair is heat and at the moment im too lazy to do that. i think my hair might become heat trained with time though--i want domin hair
Try henna.

I actually am mad that my hair texture has changed. My natural curl is looser. It looks pretty but sometimes I want to rock a fro and now I can't.

I can related to Nancy Trillosi.

Well I never said she was a rebel. I said I was glad she didn't feel a pressure to conform to what is still a popular and common look, straight hair.

And I agree that natural hair takes as much time as caring for relaxed hair, but that is true of anybody of any race and hair texture. If you want healthy hair, you really do have to put some work into it.

yeah .... i think it definitely depends on your regimen too .... for the most part, i co-wash almost daily .... when i was relaxed, i only had wash days once a week .... i twist & seal my hair at night which takes longer than just wrapping my relaxed hair

but being natural for somebody low maintenance like my sister is a breeze
