That Black girl probably did not feel comfortable pledging the Black Soros .. I know I wouldn't have. I think a lot of Black people would not pedge a Black soro for various reasons - they just are not willing to speak up about it.

Sisterhoood is not only about the color of your skin Duh! (Talk about regressive.)

I knew a couple of girls that pedged at the Atlanta (AU) campus years ago .. and they were miserable. Everyone had to wear the best clothes, have the best hair, best car and man and it was odd to watch these haughtly girls strunt around campus intimidating whoever they could, It seemed like they weren't taking thier studies seriously either and that whole light skin dark skin thing was a mess. Of course, they did not allow White members either .. maybe that's changed by now.

No, too aggressive - like a big 'Mean Girls'  club.

They ended up transferring to mostly Whte schools where they could focus on their studies and build something 'real' for themselves.

I lost interest completely after a week visiting that campus. Not to say EVERY Black soro is like that .. nor is EVERY White soro unwilling to accept Black pledges. Just depends.

Printer Ink - Women identify more so with their ethnic group than males by leaps and bounds and even still males identify more with their ethnic group at the end of the day. One day you will be like that nurse that gets attacked by a drunk white supremacist one day and maybe you will learn.

Not going to say it serves her right...because that ish ain't cool.

But I wish they commented on why she wasn't interested in joining a black sorority. Surely I couldn't see MYSELF comfortable being anybody's token, but that's just me.
