so idk im kinda turned off |
I totally get that. When I found out the government informed Coretta of MLK's affair, I thought she should have just left him. But then it called to mind a scenario I faced when an ex tried to malign me and reveal some information to my family about me. And my brother who was made privy of the information said, "If you don't shoot the messenger, sometimes you have to question his or her motive". So Coretta stayed with Martin and probably did a service to black people today. I can tell you that I couldn't have been Coretta though.

Mary J surprised the hell out of me. She did better than okay. Very impressive.
I actually had no idea that Betty and Coretta had a close friendship so this was news to me.

I personally think it's exaggerated. Much like the exaggeration that
Martin and Malcolm were enemies. Those were smaller circles back then.

Yeah, I was looking for solid sources to confirm this but everything I read only hinted at their "little known close bond." So I dunno.
At one point Betty daughter called Coretta aunt Coretta. thought that was interesting.

yep, i can think of at least one youtube video where malcolm is speaking positively about martin but there are sides to Malcolm and Martin that people rarely see because history has chosen to portray them as they see fit
