I use Chi products (not the flat irons though, they suck)  on my hair and plan on investing in the hair care products before I go off to school, but I have had so much trouble finding the best flat Irons because my chi is absolutely useless. What is the BEST flat Iron you recommend that is not over-priced (college budget, remember).

Also I plan on getting chi hair products, but if you know of any other shampoo/conditioner sets with a great heat protector as well please let me know.

My hair is relaxed.

I use this ceramic flat iron by a company called Tyche that heats up to 430 degrees. Its mineral ceramic plate 1.0" and when I bought it it also came with a very small flat iron 0.5" and some heat protector spray all for $21.99! I use IC heat protector spray on my hair as I'm flat ironing and it gets my hair really straight. I might try the heat protector spray that came with the flat iron set when and if my IC runs out. HTH

I just bought this exact same iron... I was in a bind because my iron broke and I am in a town that only has one beauty supply.... I got excited because it was only $20... However, the flat iron doesn't have any different heat settings, just an on/off button... and the part where the iron meets the plastic caught on my hair SEVERAL times... ripping it... returning it tomorrow...

The brand RED by Kiss is actually very good.  I had my iron for a few years and will most likely buy another one.  My hair is (not so) relaxed. LOL

Wow I'm sorry to hear that....I love this iron it does the job for me for now. I was kinda dissapointed when I noticed there were no heat settings as well. I haven't had any experiences with it snagging my hair if that happened I would've taken that thing back in a heart beat tooLOL

I do plan to get one with heat settings just to have in case this one breaks.
