Just received some sassy Mitchell virgin Brazilian tight curly hair and need to know what you recommend to use to dye it jet black. My last purchase with princess hair shop made me paranoid about dye. They claim it was the dye that made the hair some crap but I have never experienced that with any of the many curly purchases that I have had over the years. Not sure i am sold on the fact that it was the dye but don't want to take the risk on this hair.

What do you use on your Virgin hair to dye it black?

My sassy Mitchell hair lifted quick!
I used kaleidoscope bleach in the blue tub with 30 developer but I've heard that the violet is better.

But I think because their has is so easy to color you can use a 30 or 40 developer with a booster & foil.

If you're going blonde use lo'real quick blue.

If you are just dying it black, there is no reason to use bleach, nor anything above a deposit only developer (10 volume usually).  There are numerous options that fit that description.  A lot of times I just will use a demi permanent color with a very low volume developer when going black on already dark hair (especially curly).  Anything else really is overkill.  As far as brands go, just check out Sally Beauty.  There are numerous options and really you are doing one of the easiest, most straight forward dye job imaginable.  There are several brands that would all work fine.

I use Clairol Soy4plex Permanent color with 10 volume developer. works great and hasn't damaged any of my curly hair.
