Just goes to show you that being educated doesn't mean you're all that smart.
He could have eaten beans and rice with frozen veggies (and some cheap non-expired meat now and again) and spent less money while never going to bed hungry.
And driving to work when it's only a few miles away? Waste of money (gas, insurance, etc.) if you're obsessed with "super saving".
Why not just rent a room? Saving on housing costs is one of the biggest and best changes you can make when you're trying to really stack cash.
I definitely advocate being super frugal (to the point that most people would consider it extreme), but he wasn't very smart about it.

Yes, these are usually retired investors that are ready to liquidate everything. But if you don't pay them, obviously, they will just take their property back.

for a reporter/asst news producer he could've definitely been smarter.
he can't bike to work if he's not getting his nutrients. he would for sure collapse in the heat.

With owner financing with multi fam properties, u usually don't get credit checks.
See, you are paying this person mortgage with money u collect from Ur tenants. So if u make 8k monthly, mortgage may b 3k.
Not hard at all... |
So I take it you are making it rain in your city.... nice!

Not yet, I'm literally just starting. I'm trying to find someone to take 2k down....the one person I found does not have tenants & I would need tenants up front. I may try to wholesale it though.
