That I understand. However, if you’re given an idea of something that may be due to chance or other factors, how wise is it to start an herbal regimen to correct a “problem” that may or may not exist? Again, my post was not meant to bash this thread. I was asking for myself. I present a number of different symptoms (excess androgren, excess estrogen, and cortisol deficiency). I have had numerous tests – blood works, saliva tests, etc. – done within the last year, and the results of these tests came back normal. Thus, I am wondering how wise it would for a person, such as myself, with specific symptoms to start an herbal regimen – considering the fact that these symptoms could be caused by a hormonal imbalance or something else.
Also, samples for the saliva test were collected over the course of a few days, during different times of the day. Not just once, one day. |
Don't worry girl I was not offended or upset I just don't want 2 b accused of givin information irresponsibly. I take into consideration a lot of thingz before I post stuff and I research a lot.
I alwayz mention:
-Everyone is different -Make sure to get a real hormone test -Make sure to ask your doctor if it is safe to take each herb if you already have a pre-existing disease -If you decided to use my information it is at your own risk and I am not responsible for any harm -Do extended research before you decide anything my posts are just beginning guides
Again, dis is why I said dat this test is to give you an idea about what you might have but to confirm it with a blood test before you begin anything. I also mentioned again dat if you decided to base your regiment or start anything based on dat test alone dat is at your own risk.
Also, you can only take caution and testz so far, sometimez U do have to just PARTIALLY throw yourself in there and see what happenz. Symptomz could be ANYTHIN and da only way to know if what is causing for example your headachez for sure is through extensive testz over a long period of time. So sometimez even doctorz have to begin by testing thingz out or making educational guesses. I guess it boilez down to how much testing / confirmation do you want to have done before you consider it safe to begin takin natural herbz. Lisa Baby

What about if you are on hormonal bc? I have the implanon implant, so I was wondering how this will effect my test results? On the online test it says excess androgen and cortisol def. Not too sure about the cortisol deficiency because I gain belly fat easily

Da general rulez are if U don't have a medical condition and if U are not taking any medicationz U can use herbz. But especially if U are takin a medication dat dealz wit your hormonez U should ask your doctor about each herb 2 make sure it is safe to take with your birth control. Da readingz on your test will be effected by your birth control. U won't know about your cortisol or any other hormone till U take a hormonal test. Lisa Baby

I'm so frustrated. I went to the doctor's today and asked for a blood test to check my hormones and they refused to give it to me. I told her about herbs and they didn't even know anything about any of the herbs I showed them. I also stated I have fatigue as if you mention that they are suppose to check your hormones. It kind of pissed me off to tell you the truth. What do you ladies say to your doctor when you want to check your hormones and do they check it for you?
I'm PCP hopping at the moment so I guess it will be harder for me to actually find a dr to check this stuff for me.

Go see a doctor and ask if you can have a blood test taken to check your hormone levels because you want to try an herb. You could also see a natural doctor who will probably be more willing and open to get you your blood test for the sake of using herbs as your way to balance your hormone. Conventional doctors might see it as "unnecessary" and might deny you a test and might make an educational guess about you to prescribe a medication. |
I'm real sorry to hear dat girl. Dis is why I suggested a natural doctor. I would go back and put in a complain and make sure you explain why you are doing it no matter how shy you may be about it. You could kinda "black male" them and say, "well I'm going to try something either way and I would like to know so I don't risk my health, so I know what thing to take to ensure I am doing this correctly"
I say if you really can't get a doctor to, then your best bet is to order an at home one, dat will be better than basin it just on da online test. Saliva tests aren't as accurate but it is da in-between of an online and a blood test. Lisa Baby

I will look for a natural doctor to go to. I will be making another regular doctor appointment soon also so I will be more open about what I want the test and everything and see what they say. Is there a risk factor for these tests or something? It's just so weird to me as to why they don't like taking it.

Like I said, conventional doctorz don't see it as necessary and they don't understand why someone who is healthy would want 2 take something 2 make themselvez more healthy or more beautiful. Conventional doctorz are there to fix a problem after it has shown up not prevent it or maximize your body's potential. Conventional doctorz know very little about vitaminz and herbz they basically know medication. So they look at you and go, "my educational guess says there is not reason to get a blood test for her, she is perfectly healthy I don't suspect something, I don't know anything about the herbz she wantz 2 take, so I will just deny her there is not need to give her a blood test"
If you go to a natural doctor they will understand more. Again, if all else fails then get a saliva test. Lisa Baby

Thanks for posting that test. I really need to get going on that blood test though because the hormone test confused me a little. I have 2 or more in every group but, one. The one I didn't have any in I thought that I had a hormone issue with that. It's cool though... definitely saving it to my comp.
Correction...I am starting to understand this hormone thing now so the test makes a little bit more sense now.
