Has anyone ever tried this product? I stopped perming and cut most of my hair off so I can start new. I don't want to perm. So I thought using something like this would be great for me and my kids. Any thoughts on this ladies.
Ingredients: Ground Herb from Daphne Gnidium Shrub
Everyone has been asking. "Does a 100% natural, chemical free herbal relaxer really exist?" After almost a year of research, we can finally say "Yes, it does". It's called Natural-Laxer TM
Baka Beauty Products International has imported an all natural herbal relaxer and hair treatment to the Western World. Before you order, please read what this "relaxer" is and what it is not. We believe natural relaxers have gotten a bad rap for two reasons. There have been and there are "natural relaxers" on the market that are not 100%natural. And, there have been unrealistic expectations about what a natural relaxer could do. Baka Beauty Products' Natural-Laxer is100% natural consisting of a powder from the Daphne Gnidium, an evergreen indigenous to African and the Mediterranean. It works even better when followed up with a Sahara Clay treatment. The Sahara Clay further relaxes the hair and provides a deep cleansing to the hair leaving it silky smooth. The herb used in the natural relaxer is hand picked by workers on donkeys, ground into a fine powder and packaged into one-ounce packages, enough for one application.
Due to the overwhelming demand for information about this product, we ask you to please read our FAQs before calling or sending email questions about the Natural-Laxer. The questions we get most frequently are answered here.
If you still have questions, please email us and we'll be more than happy to answer them. Click on "Testimonials" tab above for just a few comments from our customers.
What Natural-Laxer Is What Natural-Laxer Is Not
Herbal- contains only one ingredient
Opens up curl pattern- relaxes hair
Safe for children
Safe for all hair types- Black, Biracial, Jewish, Italian,Caucasian
Helpful in transition from perm to natural hair-prevents breakage
Safe for use over chemically treated hair
Gentle hair relaxer
NOT A straightener- will not make your hair "straight" like a chemical relaxer
NOT Harsh- will not burn scalp
NOT Recommended for totally gray, totally white or blond hair. Salt & Pepper hair is fine. But, it is not recommended for purely light colored hair. See Natural-Laxer Plus for an alternative
NOT RioTM,CopaTM, NaturalaxerTM(from African WondersTM)- the Natural-LaxerTM is completely different from these products. Please do not be confused by similar sounding products.
The Natural-LaxerTM will make your hair softer, easier to comb and stronger. Maybe a better term than relaxer would be texturizer. Rather than make your hair straight, the natural relaxer will loosen your natural curl pattern without damaging it. The natural herbal relaxer works well with pressing and prevents reversion. The herbal relaxer works gradually and cumulatively after several applications. Results after the first and second applications will be noticeable, but subtle. Results are faster on finer or softer hair. With subsequent applications, the hair will gradually relax more.
Natural-Laxer is for you if you want to:
Strengthen your hair
Make hair more manageable
Avoid putting a perm in a child's hair
Keep your hair natural, but make it more manageable
Please read all instructions for use before using. Recommended use is three applications 7-10 days apart. Then use one application every 4-6 weeks or up to 8 weeks apart.
Each package is enough for one application on an average amount of hair. Two packages may be required, if you have a lot of hair.
Allergy test by mixing a teaspoon with water, apply to the inside of your arm and cover with bandage for 24 hours. Allergic reactions are rare, but possible as with anything you put on your skin.
Shampoo hair. We do not recommend a shea butter shampoo for this step.
Rinse and towel dry hair
Mix packet of Natural-LaxerTM Relaxer with 1/2 cup hot tap water
Stir into smooth paste.
Use plastic gloves, if desired
Part hair into sections. Apply Natural-Laxer from nape of neck forward. Saturate hair with the paste.
Apply clear plastic cap or commercial cellophane wrap.
Leave on and heat-
Preferred method- A thermal heat cap (available here). Apply at hot setting for 45 minutes to 1 hour. 90 minutes for coarse hair.
Secondary method- If a heat cap is not available, can leave on for three times longer allowing natural body heat to activate (with plastic cap). Results are better with heat.
Quick method- If time is of the essence, you can use a plastic cap and sit under a hood dryer on hot setting for 30 minutes.
Allow to cool with plastic cap on for 1/2 hour
Rinse thoroughly, then shampoo and condition.
(Optional, but recommended) Apply Sahara Clay for a silky, smooth finish. Tip: Mix a little shampoo in with the Sahara Clay to make it easier to rinse out any remaining Natural-Laxer powder
Moisturize hair with your favorite moisturizing product
Blow dry or wet set and style
If you want your hair straighter, pressing may be necessary with the first or second application.

There are some threads about this stuff floating around this board, but the short answer is that most women were dissatified with the results. They said that their hair was somewhat softer, but not straighter. If you do a board search, you may find some posts. Good luck!
