I wonder if they deliberately aimed at the baby or if they were aiming at the father and simply didn't care that the baby was in the way? That would be a whole new level of sociopathy

I don't think they cared, it's not like the baby was hit only once. I'd imagine the shooter was afraid of the daddy so he/she possibly emptied a clip. This is such a horrifying story.

Yeah, it's probably what happened. But for a minute, I had the horrifying thought that this might be the new thing with gangs to shoot up not only the target, but the target's children. Let's hope it's remains only a thought. How did the baby get hit 5 times if he was in the midst of changing her diaper? His back would have been facing the shooter, so why was it the baby that caught the majority of the bullets? I guess he must have instinctively ducked instead of covering the child with his body...

Who is raising these killers?
I also think it's partially the dad's fault for being involved in a gang and/drugs. He knows these thugs don't give a damn who is around, they are taking you out. And the mother should not have been involved with a gang banger. People need to stop supporting this culture because the innocents are the ones suffering for it.

I think you are right, the gunman walked up behind the father yet the baby was hit in the lungs, liver, leg, shoulder and bowel and father was only hit twice. He didnt throw himself over the baby
