has any1 that is white or mexican or asian or whaterever ask u a really awkward question about "black people ways"? because me and all of my "white friends" were watchin Save the Last Dance, and u know the part where the black girl is talkin about how white women dont need to be takin our black men and stuff?? well this boy goes "do you and all other black girls think like that?" and it was embarrasing! cause it felt like he was singaling me out on the acounta i was the only black person there!! im just like " yeah, we do, curtis......... Im just playin, quit tryin to stereotype us!!"

I take it you are young, in your early 20's at most. (that is not meant to disparage you.) That was a dumb-ass question asked of you. You don't need to be embarassed , the idiot who asked you should be ashamed.

You may not even do it on purpose, but you hopefully will develop the powerful yet scary Black lady look which will make morons like that instantly realize it is time to shut his mouth.

Nobody does it better than her:

You don't have to answer such a stupid question, just hit them with the look.

Which says, "Are you farking stoopit or something?"

And he will apologize for his stupidity immediately.

I don't think it was so much he was singling you out, I think since it was a black girl saying it, he felt like since you are black he should ask you.  I have a few white friends and I like it we are comfortable enough with each other to ask certain questions.  I know I had some preconceived ideas about white people that I have asked them about.  I think we all have stereotypical misconceptions about other races, maybe if we did talk more or asked questions we would learn a lot.

That's true Neicey up to a point, but when u r surrounded by white people like I am (colleagues, neighbours) aint that many blacks around my way, it gets rather tiring to be asked dumb assed questions 24/7  Stuff like "I guess u can stand the sun more than we can?"

Yeah, that's what I think, even though I guess all "peoples" have their stereotypes, but when u're constantly on the receiving end of stupid questions by well-intentioned people... let's just say it's tiring to teach...

But hey on the other hand, I remember my sister asking over the phone if I found that white people smelled like wet puppies when it rained wtf???

Check out this site, it's 3rd degree, I'm sure
