Eating nuts in general have been a hit or miss with people. Nuts have been known to stall the weight loss for some while others don't seem to be bothered by them. The newer version of Atkins says to not eat nuts on induction for that very reason, they don't want to be held liable if they cause you to stall. But if they're not causing you to stall...I say go ahead!

I don't think I would have made it through Atkins induction without my peanuts or almonds to munch on between meals, and incorporating them into the recipes have helped me tremendously!  They've never stalled my weight loss, thats why I decided to go ahead and add some recipes to this thread. So, it really just depends on how they affect you and your weight loss. Hope that helpsWink

Your immune system is copromised if your body couldn't fight off the infection. Don't exercise until you get past the infection and try not to take antibiotics.  Consider reviewing your supplements and vitamins.  You may need to change them up to reinforce your immune system since you have lost weight. Take care and get better.

WHY?its only 5 net carbs!on induction u can have 20

I understand that, but it's not allowed if you're following the actual Atkins Induction rules. Dreamfields pasta is not acceptable during the Induction Phase of Atkins because it is made with wheat, and grains are not allowed in any form during Induction Phase.

However, it may be added during On-Going Weight Loss phase (right after Induction)  specifically during the Grains rung of the carbohydrate ladder.

A few things about Dreamfields...

It was developed for diabetics, not low carbers. The pasta is made with wheat and a number of fibers which slows the digestion of the carbs. The thought is that the digestion is slowed down enough that the product is in the toilet bowl before your body has had time to actually digest it.

With that said, there are reports of diabetics who have blood sugar spikes with the pasta. Others are fine with it. Some diabetics claim that overcooking or eating the pasta cold/cool causes blood sugar spikes. Others don't have this problem.

And from an ADBB member point of view, we had one member whose stomach reacted in an "explosive" way to the fiber in Dreamfields pasta.

So this is a "your mileage may vary" product. But since it's not added until late in the the On-Going WEight Loss phase, the folks who do choose to add it are used to OWL and know their body signals.

Induction only lasts 14 days....so in the meantime, you should try Shirotaki noodles made by House. They're available at Aisan markets and a lot of WholeFoods and health stores, depending on where you live. They are amazing and virtually carb-free. Also, you just do a quick boil to prepare and then add all your pasta fixings. I eat these and never feel guilty plus feel nice and full afterwards. Bonus is that I heard they also act as a cleanser for your stomach (that's what they say in Japan anyway).WinkStar

good info! I'm steering clear of Dreamfields for a long time, they're too risky. If you cook them to long, or if you have to re-heat them for any reason, they're no longer considered low carb. It would be just like eating regular pasta

This is my second time on atkins (i lost over 35lbs Before) I'm getting a Lil frustrated tho. I've stuck to my carbs of 20g or sometimes less, been on induction for nearly 2 weeks and lost 2lbs the first week, nothing since then.
Could it be my calorie intake? Are you ladies watching calories also?
I need to get rid of this excess ba ge I gained over the years

What are you eating??  Times of day??  Counting of calories shouldn't be required.  Are you counting net carbs??

@missyo67
I'm counting the net carbs only and have been trying to keep my fats up but haven't been loosing a thing... When I did this before I wasn't looking at calories and the weight was dropping fast...
I eat 2 eggs and bacon in the morning, salad with Mayo and grilled chicken for lunch and for dinner i eat creamed broccoli and chicken thigh or steak.
I drink water and that's it.
What could I be doing wrong this time?
I'm in full deep purple ketosis and have been for 2 weeks now.
