anyone watch that episode ? I am happy for her buton the other hand (no pun intended) it is very creepy.
i think it was 20/20. Thinking of having someone else's forearm/hands transplanted to you.

I saw it on Nightline last night I believe. It was functional. it just took a looonnnngg time for her to gradually build up the nerves and muscles. It required a whole lot of work on her part.
The doctor was telling her she had to work on it for hours per day.. for a long time.
I felt so happy for her though, before that her arms were cut off at the elbows. ..and her feet were also cut off (she has prosthetic legs though, but the prosthetic arms didnt work for her)

that's right nightline was the show. she gained so much weight from the steroids though.
dear God its still creepy but great for her. I SERIOUSLY GASPED when months later they showed her moving her
fingers. first thought Frankenstein (God forgive me).

IA with LB. As far as the weight gain, I'm sure the docs will help her take off the weight in the future when she gets off the steroids.
If it were me, I would be so happy to have lower arms again after going years without them. Imagine how many people who would love to have the same opportunity? I'd figure out a way to camouflage the differences if they bothered me.

Yeah the weight she gained made her look completely different. It was interesting, cause I was thinking the same; that I would not care one bit if I gained all that weight as long as I had hands. But then I guess once you get the hands, have to stress everyday about the possibility of rejection, do hours per day of physical therapy that seems like its taking forever etc.. a 40 lb weight gain must suck
They mentioned that she was upset by it (but phrased it somehow to show that she was surprised by how upset she was)
It also kind of seemed like she might have been depressed.. I could be totally wrong, but did yall notice? Which is completely understandable for all that she went through and was going through.

Yeah, her affect seemed to be flat during that last update. She just didn't look as cheerful as she did in earlier video clips and interviews.
