When I want to b serious, I don't laugh. I switch it up. Too much serious=bi tch. Too much giggle= push over. It's a fine line.

It sounds like your aunt, and myself lol, are exhibiting covert aggression. It is carefully calculated and very active. She knows that laughing in your face while basically insulting cuts you deeply, perhaps even more deeply than screaming like a banshee.

I smile if something I say to someone makes them angry. Like if they make me mad, I get a burst of joy from knowing they're angry too.
I also smile/laugh/snort when anything unexpected happens, including if someone is upset with me. I don't know why.
