I realize this is a little black & white of a question, but I am curious if any long term members here feel there are ANY full lace wig vendors out there that produce wigs of a quality on par with, say, 2009 or so (when I got into the game).  it seems to me the answer is 'no' and I am wondering what others feel.  Appreciate your responses!

PLEASE NO INSULTING TO MY INTELLIGENCE, USELESS, OBVIOUS AS ALL GET OUT, VENDOR REPLIES Big smile

I'd be curious to know as well.  I've only been wearing LWs since late 2010.

Hair quality is definitely different without a doubt. My vendor is decent, but no one will compare to back in the day.

I've been wondering the same thing lately :( my favorite vendor went out of business but pops up one or twice a year with a weeks notice to place orders then disappears again :( my backup vendor has fallen off so dramatically that now I just don't know what to do :(

IMO, the cap construction and definitely the strength of the lace have improved, I think even the hairlines have gotten a bit better. But what's most important, the hair, has gone to isht. I have a couple of old units where the cap is all jacked up, but the hair never really shed and still looks great.

I hope there's a good one out there somewhere. I'm still looking for a new vendor to settle with.

I've been using  Jacksun  and Matt at Wigroyal for the last 6 - 7 years. Always good quality and I've purchased a ton of units ... 99% custom made though ... so that might be a factor.

There is usually only a $10 - 15  difference in cost and of course you have to wait longer to get a custom wig ... but those are the only difference between a custom and a stock unit.

That's why when people complain about quality ... I don't get it because mine has not changed a bit. Sometimes the units are late .. but they could sometimes be late 6 - 7 years ago as well.

Did the other 1% that were stock units hold up?

Yes, the other 1% were just fine actually ... it's just that my head is between a small and medium cap ... so I have to monkey with the cap.

But .. how is your 'care and feeding' of your units? That would be a huge factor in terms of how quickly they 'die'.  :(
