I wouldn't know. My guess is people use the term "nerd" more loosely and not in always in a derogatory way? *shrug*

idk what yall wanna call em but the stereotypical "i dont wash my behind every day cause i'm too busy arguing about which DC character is the strongest"

My bestfriend like to drag me to the local board gaming shop....

unwashed faces, nasty white heads the size of texas, tennis shoes with holes and toes poking out, sloppy clothing, stank breath, DnD playin, awkward, etc...

I don't think any of those people are actually smart though so idk if i would call them nerds.

I think I'm more likely to find smart-nerds at ACS/biomedical/CIS/computer engineering/game development conventions.

just because you are hot and wear glasses and occasionally read a book does not make you a nerd

and theres a huge diff between a bookworm and a nerd imo

and to add to that:
 - Playing video games all day does not make you a nerd
 - Having a comic book collection doesnt make you a nerd
 - A having keen interest in science and high IQ do not make you a nerd

yup
