I wonder if her being pretty has something to do with people thinking of her as light skint

Makes me think of what afro was saying in that other thread

I see what you are getting at star but come on

now a dark skin woman can't even admire a lighter skinned black woman for her talent and beauty?

how far do we have to take this and when does insecurity start to play a role?

I never thought of Beyonce as light skinned until BHM.
When I think of light skinned I think Alicia Keys or that chick from My Wife and Kids.

i learned long ago… that people have different opinions of what is yellow, red, light, caramel, brown, dark, etc…

as far as aaliyah.. imo id say shes brown in the summer and light in the winter.
i was looking at her pics as a kid and some as her older.. and she was caramel but with yellow undertones.. so give or take a shade or two in the summer she looked brown.. vice versa for winter.
her makeup played a role too.

i dont understand this…

i get that youre not saying that that is your opinion. But yea, i dont understand…

i can name lots of dark girls with 'regular black' features who are considered pretty.
but zendayas specific features.. on darker skin, wouldnt be considered pretty?

i get that skin color plays a role in entertainment popularity, i wont act like its irrelevant..
but not to the extreme of, ' shes pretty just cus shes light' Confused

lol

I see more black women going crazy over marilyn monroe, audrey hepburn, sarah jesscia parker amd kim kardashian than the black women that were posted

if we could get them to wear those (black) women on t shirts and post pictures of them in their homes I would be happy

I notice skin complexion is judged lite or dark based on the person judging it and their complexion......darker people will consider Aaliyah lite while lighter people will consider her brown.....

Oh and Lena can do no wrong......
