FOR ALL THE LADIES who are newSmile and some of the challenges here are already progressed and for all the older members who's hair isn't very close to reaching arm pit length yet....THIS THREAD IS FOR YOU....whether you are natural or relaxed....whether you want to grow it all out or in layers....You can get all the support and motivation you need here!!!Tongue

Information:

Why are you growing your hair?
Regimen
Products
Growth aids
Hair achievement date (this is if you can make it by December 2010)
A starting pic isn't mandatory although it is necessary

Updating at least once every week (unless there are other circumstances) is required

RULES

1. Co-washing really helps, if you can manage this, I'd recommend it.
2. DEEP CONDITION, i cannot stress this enough...
3. PROTECTIVE STYLING.....least amount of manipulation
4. MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE!
5. Check in at least once a month
6. Trim and/or dust as needed, long hair is great but healthy hair is optimal!
7. AVOID HEAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN....this means NO BLOW DRYERS, FLAT IRONS, NOTHING HEAT ONLY WHEN DC'ing
8. DRINK WATER, WATER, WATER

I used to stretch my relaxers for 3 months as well.  I stretched for 4 months once and it was easy because I was co-washing/regualr washing my hair A LOT during the week.  I was in humid Mississippi plus working out 4-5 times a week and I was only wearing my hair in a bun or a single braid pinned under.

I have a question. How can you all girls do cowash so many times a week and have straight hair. If i wet my hair, i have to put roller set to have it straight and it s impossible for me to do it so many times.
Please girls, help me and give me some advises

^If you cowash a lot you have to give up on having straight hair all the time, i usually just wash, do braids or airdry in a loose ponytail with a scarf on, thats it. If that cant get it straight enough, so be it cause everyday rollersets aint gonna cut it for me. The scarf and ponytail will usually get you straightish though, at least the front.
