I want to try to start learning to swim. I go to a majorly white school and I want to debunk that myth that black people, especially black GIRLS, are scared of the water.
I LOVE the water. My issue is I'm not a good swimmer because I've never been taught. I'm a little scared to breathe underwater so I can't swim underwater ... I can't really explain what is is I do but I'm able to swim without my head going underwater. Which looks absolutely stupid because I want to be able to swim properly and fast.
I start my swimming lessons this month hopefully. Any tips for when it comes to breathing underwater? Like any breathing techniques I should try to start doing above the water before I start the lessons? Are nose plugs effective?
