Silk covers up the knots but there is a line of demarcation where the lace and silk meet (if you decide to get the lace attached, if not then the silk closure will have to be installed behind the hairline) you could almost eliminate that by hair having the lace start 1/8-1/4 kt the hairline. Silk is generally more expensive than lace and it is all about preference which is better.

The knotting refers to how many times the closure maker knots the hair. Single knotted is less secure but the knotted dot is not as big as the double knotted which is more secure. When customizing a closure, you could ask for single knotted at the hairline and double knotted through out.

Density is all about preference. Some like a more natural density on their closures and other prefer thicker. You said you want 80-120% which is okay but make sure to see the vendors density chart since different vendors have their own versions.

Freestyle parting is the best and pu strip will allow the lace closure to last longer (silk closures generally don't have p u strips). For the color of the lace or silk color, request to see their color chart to make sure the color will work for your skin tone. If unsure of a color, always go lighter b/c it will be easier to tint the lace or silk than remove color.

I hope this answer some of your questions.

You sure did thanks so much!

Hi O.P I know this IS definitely an OLD post, however if you have time would you mind updating or posting a link to your updated post about which lace  front vendor you chose and the quality you recieved.
I read the entire post and the responses you were given. I think its rather unfortunate that people gave you a hard time about answering your questions. Sadly enough people really do believe that they are trying to help when they ask you to do your own leg work, however they referenced you to links of forum topics that had 15+ pages. Now I dont know what it is that you do, but many folks don't have that kind of time and it seemed as if you had done some homework.
There are so many fly by night companies that I understand how overwhelming this "research" on finding the perfect hair becomes. However, I hope you found something quickly that you were pleased with so you could spend your time and energies researching something more time worthy.
There are certain women who have forgotten that this forum used to be about helping each other with knowledge on different hair vendors/techniques and haircare tips. The hair companies used to be at our mercy and their prices were reflective, but after the hair company expansion of late 2008-2009, we lost ourselves in the chaos of all the fly by night companies promising to sell us the golden hair, and we turned on each other. The weaves thread especially suffered--women not sharing "their" vendors, getting snappy when newbies/lurkers asked questions of the elders of this website.and blatantly disrespect and hate on minority owned business and services. catty arguments..ETC
..so you have to excuse the responses you received, since certain people believe they are inspiring you to work hard by secondhandedly encouraging you to waste your precious brain power and time on researching through crap loads of vendors just because... they were too stupid not to hours of their time and hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on different vendors selling them the same hair under an exotic alias promising that the new straight and silky WILL blend with your kinks and coils..smh...

Anyway, I didnt mean to come out of lurk mode and give you and whomever's eyes this passage falls on  this short essay, but ignorance under the guise of discouraging "laziness" really befuddles me
