How do you control your anger and calm down?

I've been feeling a lot like this lately:

Depends on the person I'm upset with, but usually allowing a day or two to pass by calms me down.

If you force me to talk it out before allowing time to pass...I can't be held liable for anything I say or do...I tend to cut deep...and idk how to control it, which is why I require time away..but sometimes people don't listen Disapprove

When you realize people will do things just to get a rise out of you...you start to learn how to save face and get the rise out of them instead. After a few times..it becomes natural. You just don't have time to be mad anymore.

I know how to control it but I have come not to care with certain people

I do try to stay away from tense situations with family members and others I know I will see repeatedly

b/c once I don't give a damn I pretty much will treat you like sh*t and not care

This is something I have to make a conscious effort to work on...

I'm not an angry person, but my temper gets the best of me

If I'm in conversation, I'll politely say "Is it okay if we discuss this at a later time?"...

If I'm upset about a situation and around other ppl, I take slow, silent, deep breaths to calm my nerves...count backwards from10 in my head...almost like a silent wooooosahhhhhhh

If I'm upset about a situation and I'm alone, I meditate...

I've said some pretty hurtful things in the heat of the moment, so I had to force myself to not say things out of spite...

I simply go for a drive or isolate myself from an equation until I cool off and am ready to have a level-headed convo...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have lost my temper too many times on people and I used to be such a nice person. I have been praying a lot more lately! My mom gave me bible verses to read. I am also seeing a psychiatrist, which I was so apprehensive to, but a lot of childhood trauma is resurfacing from my past and I think I need to talk to someone before I do something crazy. I keep thinking about how my friend said I can be so cool until I lose it and then I get scary. Sooooo yeah.

Bottle it up then go to my car and cry like a five year old to relieve built in tension.  Works short term but this can't be a good.  oh well :/
