Many Black women are not concerned about health though
If appearance is their main motivation then I can see how one would yoyo diet. I believe that health and lifestyle changes can only be the true denominators to staying fit
Once Black women start getting concerned with their health and the health of their children, they will start to see real changes in their physical appearance

Black women want to lose weight but many clearly just don't know how to lose weight properly and how to maintain weight loss. I don't know how many black women I know who've lost weight then gained it all back, only to repeat this pattern for years on end until they just give up.
A major problem is that the goal is LOSE WEIGHT for purely cosmetic purposes, rather than to receive the vast benefits that come along with a healthy weight and lifestyle. People will do all sorts of things to lose weight, rather than doing what it really takes to lose it and keep it off. |

Of course most are losing weight for appearance rather than health. Look at how some of ya'll women on here comment on big women like it just disgusts ya'll to look at her because she's big. I'm pretty sure when one has to put up with comments like that the last thing they are worried about is their health. They are worried about losing weight so they don't have to deal with those type of comments anymore.

why is it so wrong for her to be emotional?
and this is only 2 minutes of her interview for "How I Made it". she talks about other things, like how she got cast on Glee, her broadway debut, her upcoming album. it wasn't some 20minute segment on her crying.

You ain't know? According to BHM she should just suck it up and do something about it instead of being emotional about something that she can change.

Black women have the highest rates out of any group in America
I think we deserve to look at our own issues because the solution for our weight loss my be in our particular problem

The United States is one of the fattest nations on Earth. Two-thirds of American adults are overweight, so I'm quite sure that it's not just a black female thing.
There are a ton of issues surrounding obesity, and it's not nearly as simplistic as people would like it to be. |
| We're Gonna need to do something about all these negative statistics we are leading the pack with. There's no shame in getting a lap band. I know that losing weight is hard. I've lacked the patience to lose 15 lbs so much so that I chose to starve myself on the master cleanse diet for a week and exercise. I felt great afterwards though...
