Am I being petty?

I'm so tired of some of my white co workers not speaking to me when I come to work or brush me off when I say something to them.I walk into the break room & they don't say sh*t, but they'll speak to each other. If somebody would come in when I was sitting there, I used to be like 'hey what's up?' But now I refuse to speak to some of them because I feel they are just rude. I was raised to greet people & act friendly. Its the southern way, however I refuse to be disrespected by asshole co workers. Is it wrong to not acknowledge them unless they speak to me first? LMKS BHM.

Don't do it.  It is the definition of letting them steal your joy.  Get your revenge by becoming their boss

I'm like you and was raised to smile and say hi (I don't do small talk that much though lol)

so I can see why you are annoyed

however, I think you should still say hello and acknowledge their presence

I don't know if this job is a career choice or not, but if it is you will have to suck it up and play nice

This is a just a job. But I feel like lately I give myself and I get nothing but attitude in return. I'm starting to have a chip on my shoulder.

I know it's hard but you have to disconnect your personal feelings from this bullsh*t and let it roll off your back.
