Sooooo Am i the only one whose mother used thread in their hair when they were younger??? I see no reference in this whole thread. She used to bend it to make it look like a spider leg.Dead

FTR I HATED THOSE THREAD STYLES. akata's and kokoye's made fun of me when I was younger and called me spider head.Cry

This is actually hilarious because "kokoye" is actually a haitian word for coconut, BUT i know its meant to reference the latinos. It travelled from Haiti to DR, so essentially youre calling them coconuts.LOL

My dad told me it was a bird in Nigeria that talked alot and that latinos sound like the bird when they talk... I can't remember where the word akata comes from.

LOL. I always wondered if the word "Kokobé" means anything to Africans. That's another one that seems like it travelled from the big continent
