What is this called? Dukunoo? Is that the original African word that we (Jamaicans) retained? Its also called tie leaf or blue draws/drawers here.
I used to hate it till my Mom-in-law made it for me about 2 years ago.......she basically made a cormeal pudding with sweetpotato and carrot i believe (dont think she made it the traditional way though) Hers tasted much better than however/whatever the clusterfluck is that random ppl had been shoving in my faces for decades

That is ole or moin moin. Dunkuno is usually wrapped in corn leaf and it is closer to white in color. What you described is dokonu or kenkey.
Moin moin is made with beans and peppers, look it up it is fairly easy to make.
