| "bête laide" means ugly beast for those wondering. That is harsh. Her face has a very pleasant soft look to it, but some people still associate dark with beasts I guess...or maybe it's some other feature? I look more beast-like than Alek. |

@Lhdc: Of course it's harsh. Trouble is some older people (and younger ones on here) have an entrenched mindset as to what is considered acceptable beauty and that won't change anytime soom.

Geez, why are yall insisting on that? I didn't expect the majority of BHM to find her beautiful, I know better than that, but for those who can appreciate that aesthetic, I posted. I noticed that the top african models thread didn't do numbers either. I wonder why.

I don't think it has all to do with her being dark.
The dimensions of her face ppl just don't find pleasing has some to do with it also.
I'm not dismissing colorism though.
I find Alek very beautiful.
I don't like these pics though
