I was wondering if there are any africans in this section...I would like to ask you about a wash cloth that africans use its sort of like a net and  it is  used to take baths..A lady told me to use it because it exfoliates the skin very well when used with the raw african black soap...Do any of you know what I am talking about?  have you heard of this?  any tips/ideas on doing this.

Yes

Its made from a seed/pod...let me see if i can find a picture online. It acts like an exfoliant and can be rough when you first start using it...you need to soak it for a day in some soap and water so it softens a little.
I have seen some small ones in CVS - dunno if they are just as good

Well, it's just a washcloth really, nothing special about it. That's what I use cus it's wat makes me feel nice and clean. some aren't that hard, like da one in da picture, I bought mine in Africa too.
There's no "tales" about using it with black soap, non that I've heard of at least.    or did u hear something?

Well here is the thing, I just started using it with the natural raw black soap (the one that looks like hard cake)

Here is what I noticed:

  1. this afrcan wash cloth allowed me to clean my body with out the extra work I would have to do with a regular rag. I guess thats because this is more rough.
  2. after using it to scrub my entire body and then when I washed off I was suprised by all the dark dirt that came off me, I am thinking it's not dirt maybe some dead skin I accumilated over the years.  I normaly bathe twice a day so I am not that dirty...lol.
  3. At the end of my shower I felt squeeky clean...I think I will stick to this because it does a better job than a regular rag for sure.

What I have been hearing people say is that it helps exfoliate the skin and while using with black soap and raw shea butter or even with some skin lighteners it will give your skin visible clarity over time...It's too soon to know though. we will see.Wink
