Hey ladies,
I'm slowly becoming a length whore (I'm at 20in nowTongue) and I've read that longer lengths tangle more (which I'm experiencing now) I wanted to try a ACV rinse and then do a silicon mix.

Please don't shoot me.....I've done the search, even went through the newbie stuff and I couldn't find a thread explaining how to do a ACV rinse. Help?

I had to go to the growth section to learn about ACV rinses. It's not talked about too much around these parts.

Mix 1 tablespoon of ACV per 1 cup of water. Put your hair in the mix and leave for a while. Then rinse it out.

People do ACV rinses a ton of different ways: after shampooing, after conditioning, before everything....so you'll have to decide what works best for you.

When I did ACV on my weave I put the weave in the rinse, left it for about an hour, then rinsed it off and gave it a dc.

(Btw, if you do ACV on your natural hair just leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse)

Just going to add my ACV regime [IMG]smileys/smiley1.gif" align="middle" />

No weave - Mix a half of a cup of ACV in a gallon of warm water. Wash hair normally, condition normally, pour ACV rinse over hair, massage into scalp, clip hair up and let it sit while doing all my other shower stuff. Rinse out with cool water.

Weave - fill two large squirt bottles with warm water. Add an eighth of a cup of ACV to each. Wash and condition weave al leave out hair as usual. Use squirt bottle to saturate braids and scalp with ACV rinse. Finish shower stuff and rinse, rinse, rinse with cool water and handheld shower spray. Great cure for any itching, seems to really keep the braids and wefts clean and residue free. If my hair really needs clarifying during an install I will use clarifying shampoo, no conditioner and an ACV rinse.

Wanted to add I also do an ACV rinse soak on all new weave hair, and weave hair I'm washing before an install or to put away. It's a great clarifier and can get rid of those odd new hair smells

Oh my gosh, thanks DesDesDes...I forgot to mention you have to rinse it with cool water!! Thanks for adding that info.

I did an ACV rinse on my new virgin hair and it does help with smell and really smoothing the hair.

I really needed this. I'll probably do an ACV rinse on my Wags. Should I deep condition before or after?

i recently saw a vid of a woman mixing it in a spray bottle to rinse her install and spraying in between tracks for her scalp.

i saw someone use silicon mix the way you deep condition..not sure if thats the proper way or not.

ACV is used for my natural hair and my weave.

Skip the silicon mix and get aphogee if you are having tangling.  Follow with ORS replenish deep conditioning and heat.  I never liked the silicon mix because it seemed to make any issues I had worse.   Just my opinion....based on my experiences.
