I did my first Glycolic Acid peel last night (30% to start off with) and TBH, it was not bad at all!I was really expecting a lot of burning, but there was just more of a "tolerable stinging".
My goal is to get rid of dark spots caused by old acne, and to even out the skin tone of my face to match the rest of my body (as it stands, I resemble a patchwork quilt...face one shade, arms another shade, torso, yet another shade...so wearing summer clothing is interesting )
I plan to do the GA peels once a week as a part of my new skin regimen, and after a month, I will move up to a stronger percentage.

I did 30% on my face to help w/ old acne marks, plus used Fair and White Serum on the spots. Plus, used sunscreen daily. I did the peel once a week and got a professional facial once a month- no more spots! Now, I've stopped being lazy and am peeling my acne marks on my back. I got 50% gyclolic peels for that. Hopefully, I'll see some progress w/i a month. I want a clear back again!

Hey everyone~ I'm back!
I did a light glycolic acid peel last week after going on a loooooong chem break and my skin looks wonderfully exfoliated! For awhile I was noticing that my skin looked dull so I exfoliated with sugar and olive oil. It helped a bit but a few days later, I decided to do a glycolic peel and my skin has gone back to amazing!

I've done full face peels and really dont need to do another one. But, I have two dark spots from a hormonal breakout that have gotten lighter just not fast enough. Can I do a spot treatment on just those two spots ?

This is a warning for my darker dolls (darkerthanapaperbag) Chemicals peels may not be the best for you due to our dark skin when we burn it the skin turns black chemical peels burn the epidermis which is the first layer of your skin leave it on to long and you will have a patch that will turn black. Making your dark spots bigger and worst and literally impossible to get rid of. I will okay the latic acid (40%) for darker skin women but TCA please stay away from I got my chemical peel done at a demertalogist and went home ill advised and my face turn pitch black if something burns your face you may want to think again I rather have the dark spots I had before than this black patch on my cheek. I wanted to die like seriously but my skin is typically good which it use to be perfect 6 months ago so I know I can get it back. Please don't go over board with these peels they are meant for Caucasians and people with a lighter complexions. I wish I would have did my research first and please don't use scrubs while you're peeling and use sunscreen SPF30 or higher. AND DON'T LEAVE THESE PEELS ON YOUR FACE FOR LONGER THAN 2 MINUTES 60 seconds can make a difference in burning your skin permenantly. Results take time don't rush these peels this is not something to play with do your research and read the good, the bad, and the ugly before putting anything on your face especially something that literally burns your skin off. Dark skin people please be aware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
