Ouch. Why soap and water?Soap would just make it worse.

You'll be fine. Your eye just needs more of it's natural fluid after you flush it out. Eye drops or letting it rest while closed for a minute or 3 will do.

I got acetone in my eye one time and was flapping around the floor like a fish out of water.

You did good by rinsing it out immediately, but didn't the soap burn also? Call your doctor and let them know what happened and whether or not you are having any discomfort now. They will be able to better assist you. Hope it gets better.

sorry i laughed out loud when you said soap and water lol. i usually just rinse my eye with warm water and my eye feels better; it may sting for a while but it'll be fine. i dont think you need to see the doctor

I accidentally sprayed perfume in my son's eye recently and now he is TERRIFIED of perfume, cologne etc. Whenever we are near the makeup counter in the mall he puts his hood over his face LOL

Wayyy Back when I first started wearing contacts, I think I was 13; I always used to Renu for the contact lens solution and cleanser.
One day my mother bought a different brand of solution, and I thought it behaved the same as Renu.

Boy was I wrong, I took my contacts out of the solution, gave it a squirt to clean it and put into my eye.
Worse pain I've ever been in, I was practically to claw out my eye, it hurt so much.

I then noticed -- in very tiny writing that it should not be directly applied to the eyes and needed a separate cleanser.

Mind you my prescription strength is a -11.00 how on Earth did they expect me to read that? Now, I'm terrified of using any other product than Renu.
