What are they and what is the purpose of having them installed at the sides and back of a closure? I read a post where it was advised to ask for this. Also, will baby hairs make the hairline look more natural if you don't leave any of your own hair out?

I'm in talks with sellers for quotes and requested PU strips, but I don't really know why I'm requesting them. Just following advice on BHM...

I did a regular search and an advanced search using those words and I'm not coming up with anything (except for the post in this thread!). What am I doing wrong?

OK, I got some hits. So I understand that it's a strip that you glue on the sides and back and that it helps avoid the hair on the closure from fraying. Apparently, you shouldn't request it on the front...

In some posts, they say it's for people with bald hairlines, though. I do have a hairline, although it's thin and I always thought using glue on weaves was a no no because of potential damage to your real hair. I'm also not planning on leaving any hair out because my hair is natural and I'm going for a straight look

 I'm confused by the info
To PU strip or not to PU strip?

The PU strip will not be in the front only around the sides and back like th a U shape. The PU strip adds to the stability of the closure as it keeps you from puncturing holes in the lace, fraying it, or inadvertently ripping it. Also, for those that are not accustumed to sewing on closures the pu strip provides a guideline.
