Look at the book/movie from her point of view.

I doubt she was being passive aggressive. I just doubt she thought about it from your point of view or went that deep into it.

I'm being serious. I just don't think she looked at it from your point of view at all. That is obviously not a good thing...

She probably looking at it from how white people viewed that movie. A kind hearted white woman helping some oppressed black people. What a wonderful woman. I hope all black people see me like this woman who likes them & defends them.

That's as far as most think. Do you think she spent time learning to understand the book/the movie the way a black woman/person would?

I'm not defending her ignorance. I'm just saying if you were to retaliate don't be surprised if no one else "gets it"
