Jolie, sango nini?
Was your husband/Congolese ex from the Luba tribe? When it comes to tribalism they do not play. A Luba will only marry another Luba (or a white person).
edited to add: I know a few who were married to people from other tribes, and left their spouses to get with their fellow Luba. It was messy. You couldn't have parties or gatherings for fear of all the ensuing drama.

No, he wasn't Luba. Same tribe as Mobutu. The thing is, they were really nice to the white wives in their family but not to me. I guess they just didn't like me. And when the family doesn't like you, it's a difficult situation. I felt he didn't stick up for me like a husband shoud support his wife. Not that I expected him to divorce his family, but at least make it clear that I'm his wife and that I'm to be respected. Anyway, it's ancient history

lol Some Africans be cold blooded on the relationship tip. I remember I was
talking to this one African girl and I was like we need to get together
and build, have beautiful black babies and she was like she could only
marry someone from her culture so I was like cool. But then a couple
months later I saw her out with this pale ass white dude and I
approached her like "What is this"and she was like "Nicca geet dee fucc
away from me, I don't wont yow black ass"

Oh, he was Ngala/Ngbande.
Well, I give you a big It's his loss.
My co-worker married an African-American and her parents invited her ex Nigerian BF to their engagement party. Talk about awkward.
