I don't know, my SO only uses an umbrella if he's dressed up or if it's raining really hard.

And why is it "unmanly" for a man to buy his gf/wife feminine products? If I can buy condoms with a straight face & no shame, and he enjoys spending time in the goodie goodie spot, you can buy me tampons on the off time that I might ask you to pick some up for me.

What's "unmanly" is trying so bad to be "hard" that you work your way right out of a potentially good relationship just to prove your supposed manhood.

hell i don't really carry umbrellas...but then i'm not really walking around outside in the rain.  i drive.  i'm not popping an umbrella out to walk from my front door to the car...
